Job Description

Join our team as a Health and Safety Officer where you will be responsible for creating a safe working environment in Pretoria. You will assess risks, develop and implement safety policies, and provide training to staff. Your focus will be on reducing workplace hazards and promoting occupational health.

Responsibilities

• Draft and update the company health and safety manual.
• Conduct and document safety drills for emergency preparedness.
• Assess workplace hazards and provide solutions.
• Work closely with other departments to ensure safety compliance.
• Report on health and safety performance and make recommendations for improvement.
• Participate in health and safety training for new hires.
• Regularly review and improve safety processes.
• Create engaging safety awareness campaigns for employees.
• Maintain a good relationship with safety equipment suppliers.
• Document and track safety incidents for analysis.

Requirements

Education

• Higher National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or similar field

Experience

• 2-4 years of experience in the health and safety sector

Technical Skills

• Health & Safety Audits

Certifications

• NEBOSH General Certificate

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Conversational
