Public Health Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Public Health Specialist to enhance our public health initiatives. You will engage with community members, assess public health needs, and advocate for health policies that benefit the well-being of the population in Port Elizabeth. Your efforts will directly impact the health dynamics of the community.

Responsibilities

• Conduct health workshops and training sessions for community members and health workers.
• Evaluate community health needs through data collection and analysis.
• Implement health education strategies that cater to diverse populations.
• Advocate for health policies that support the well-being of the public.
• Establish collaborations with various health sectors to enhance the effectiveness of health initiatives.
• Monitor public health trends and identify emerging health issues.
• Serve as a representative for public health matters in community meetings and forums.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Health Education, or related field
• Master's degree in Public Health is highly desirable

Experience

• 3-5 years of relevant public health experience

• Public Health Certification Board (PHCB)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Bilingual Communication Skills: Ability to communicate in Afrikaans or isiXhosa is a plus.
