Job Description

Join us as a Mental Health Counselor where your primary responsibility will be to offer individual and group therapy sessions. The successful candidate will assist clients in navigating their mental health challenges, using evidence-based practices while being part of a nurturing and supportive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate clients’ mental health and emotional needs.
  • Implement therapeutic interventions based on clients' treatment plans.
  • Build rapport and trust with clients fostering a safe and supportive environment.
  • Develop workshops for skill building in communication and relaxation techniques.
  • Utilize treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
  • Document and analyze client progress in sessions to adapt treatment plans.
  • Attend staff meetings to discuss client progress and share insights.
  • Stay updated on current trends and research in mental health.
  • Network with local mental health organizations and professionals.
  • Advocate for clients’ needs within community healthcare systems.

Requirements

Education
  • Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Counseling
  • Registration with a recognized body (HPCSA or similar)
Experience
  • 2+ years of experience in a clinical counseling setting
