Oral Surgeon Assistant

Job Description

Are you passionate about oral health? We are looking for an Oral Surgeon Assistant for our Johannesburg clinic, where you will assist in surgical procedures and provide excellent patient support.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room for oral surgeries.
• Assist surgeons in procedures by handing them the necessary instruments.
• Maintain inventory of surgical supplies and order as necessary.
• Monitor patient comfort and safety during procedures.
• Help with patient check-ins and follow-up appointments.
• Conduct routine sterilization of equipment and instruments.
• Provide emotional support to patients undergoing surgical procedures.
• Participate in continuing education and training as required.

Requirements

Education

• Diploma in Dental Assisting or related field
• Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences is a plus

Experience

• At least 2 years of experience in a dental practice or healthcare environment

• English: Fluent
• Sesotho: Conversational

• Experience in a surgical environment: Previous experience in surgical dental settings is a plus.
