Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Zoo Veterinarian to oversee the health and welfare of our diverse collection of wildlife. You will be responsible for diagnosing and treating illnesses, conducting health assessments, and collaborating with a team to ensure optimal animal care.

Responsibilities

  • Implement health monitoring systems for all resident species.
  • Support rescue and rehabilitation efforts for indigenous wildlife.
  • Participate in regional wildlife health initiatives.
  • Advise on the ethical treatment and care of zoo animals.
  • Coordinate with external veterinary specialists as needed.
  • Document case studies for animal health and welfare training.
  • Promote a culture of safety and animal welfare within the organization.

Requirements

Education
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)
  • Specialist certification in zoological medicine is a plus
Experience
  • Experience managing veterinary care in a zoological setting
