Job Description

We are on the lookout for a Public Health Epidemiologist to join our dedicated team in Pretoria. This role involves studying the distribution and determinants of health and diseases in populations. You'll engage in significant public health research and collaborate with various stakeholders to implement effective health strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct field investigations to identify health issues and outbreaks.
  • Develop epidemiological models to predict health trends.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to create comprehensive health strategies.
  • Prepare and maintain databases for health records and surveillance systems.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops on epidemiological methods.
  • Assess health policies and their impact on public health outcomes.
  • Participate in public health campaigns and community outreach.
  • Write and publish scholarly articles in relevant journals.

Requirements

Education
  • Master's degree in Epidemiology or Public Health
  • PhD is advantageous
Experience
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in public health or epidemiology
