Veterinary Technician

Job Description

As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a pivotal role in patient care and support the veterinary team in diagnosing and treating animals. Your responsibilities will include monitoring anesthesia, assisting in surgeries, conducting lab tests, and educating pet owners on proper care.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to animals post-surgery and during recovery.
• Perform diagnostic imaging and assist in interpreting results.
• Prepare prescription medications and support treatments as directed.
• Communicate effectively with clients regarding pet health and treatments.
• Participate in the training of junior staff and interns.
• Implement and adhere to clinic protocols and safety standards.
• Manage and assist with the front desk duties as needed.

• Knowledge of emergency care procedures: Familiarity with handling emergencies in veterinary settings.
• Bilingual communication skills: Ability to communicate in both English and Afrikaans.
