Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and qualified Special Education Teacher to work in our Durban school. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing individual education plans (IEPs) and will be adept at creating an inclusive classroom environment.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver tailored instruction that meets the individual needs of students.
  • Coordinate with external therapists and specialists to support student development.
  • Implement and oversee classroom accommodations and modifications.
  • Encourage students to set and achieve personal goals.
  • Provide emotional support and encouragement to help students overcome challenges.
  • Engage with the community to promote awareness and understanding of special education.
  • Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of instructional methods.
  • Facilitate training sessions for staff on special needs education.
  • Assist in the development of school-wide policies for students with special needs.
  • Actively participate in school events and workshops.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Education with a focus on Special Education
  • Master's degree in Special Education is an advantage
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role
