Job Description

We are currently looking for a motivated Pharmacy Assistant to join our pharmacy team in Port Elizabeth. Your role will be crucial in providing exceptional customer service, assisting pharmacists with daily operations, and ensuring the accurate dispensing of medication. As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will also be responsible for maintaining inventory, managing prescription records, and providing necessary information to patients regarding their medications. Ideal candidates should have a strong attention to detail and a passion for helping others.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and dispense medications, following instructions provided by licensed pharmacists.
• Provide quality customer service, addressing patient questions thoroughly.
• Assist in managing and ordering inventory to keep the pharmacy stocked.
• Maintain detailed records of patient prescriptions and medication history.
• Educate patients about medication usage and safety measures.
• Collaborate with caregivers and health professionals to enhance patient care.
• Ensure compliance with health regulations and pharmacy standards.
• Perform clerical duties as assigned by the pharmacy manager.

Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Pharmacy Technician certification is advantageous

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a pharmacy or healthcare environment

• Knowledge of Pharmacy Software

• Xhosa: Conversational
