Job Description

As an Intellectual Property Counsel, you will play a key role in advising on the creation, management, and enforcement of IP rights across various industries. Your expertise will drive our IP strategy forward.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic advice on patent, trademark, and copyright matters.
• Engage with regulatory bodies and stakeholders regarding IP policies.
• Assist in the commercialization of client IP assets.
• Participate in negotiation of licensing agreements.
• Support M&A transactions from an IP perspective.
• Run workshops on IP awareness and protection strategies.
• Assist in the development of IP compliance programs.

Requirements

Education

• LLB or equivalent law degree
• Specialization in Intellectual Property Law is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in intellectual property law

• Intellectual Property Law
• Contract Negotiation

Certifications

• Admitted to practice law in South Africa
• Postgraduate IP Law Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in international IP law: Knowledge of global IP regulations is desirable.
• Familiarity with patent filing procedures: Experience in preparing patent applications and filings.
