Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our Cape Town team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical systems and processes. You will collaborate with a diverse team, ensuring that our engineering solutions meet high standards of quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design process for mechanical components.
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost analysis.
• Manage project budgets and resource allocation.
• Utilize CAD software for modeling and simulation.
• Evaluate existing systems and recommend improvements.
• Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for material procurement.
• Present design concepts and project updates to stakeholders.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering team.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Master's degree is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and engineering

Technical Skills

• Catia
• ANSYS

Soft Skills

• Project management
• Leadership

Certifications

• Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE)
• Lean Six Sigma

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Proficiency in Python: Experience in Python for data analysis and automation tasks.
• Understanding of thermal systems: Knowledge of heat transfer principles and thermal system design.
