Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

Join our engineering team as a Mechanical Engineer in Cape Town! You'll be responsible for developing innovative solutions to complex engineering problems, using your expertise in mechanical design and project management to ensure successful project execution from concept to completion.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the mechanical design process and ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards.
• Interface with clients to gather requirements and provide updates on project progress.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
• Ensure quality control throughout the design and manufacturing processes.
• Stay up-to-date with advancements in mechanical engineering and related technologies.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Master’s degree in a relevant field is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering roles

Technical Skills

• Thermodynamics and Fluid Mechanics
• Material Science

Certifications

• Project Management Professional (PMP)
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Proficiency in Finite Element Analysis (FEA): Experience with FEA tools for structural analysis and optimization.
• Proficiency in CAD and CAM systems: Experience with Computer-Aided Manufacturing systems for production.
