Job Description

As a General Practitioner at our Durban clinic, you will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to patients. Your duties will include performing physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and prescribing necessary medications. You will work closely with specialists as needed, ensuring a comprehensive approach to healthcare.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive health assessments for all patients.
  • Manage chronic illnesses and support patients through treatment and recovery.
  • Participate in health promotion activities and community outreach.
  • Supervise clinical staff and ensure compliance with healthcare standards.
  • Assist in the development of healthcare improvement initiatives.
  • Address patient complaints and strive for high patient satisfaction.
  • Ensure effective communication with patients regarding their treatment options.
  • Involve patients in their own care decisions while promoting transparency.
  • Collaborate in team meetings to discuss patient care strategies.

Requirements

Education
  • MBChB or equivalent medical qualification
  • Specialization in Family Medicine or General Practice preferred
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience as a General Practitioner or in a similar role
