SOC Analyst

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented SOC Analyst to enhance our security operations team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring security alerts, investigating potential security incidents, and responding to threats effectively. With a focus on incident response and threat intelligence, this role is critical to safeguarding sensitive information and ensuring robust security practices across our organization.

Responsibilities

• Monitor network traffic and endpoint security for potential threats
• Engage in root cause analysis of security incidents
• Develop and improve incident response playbooks
• Mentor junior SOC team members and share security knowledge
• Review and analyze security logs from diverse sources
• Stay informed about compliance regulations affecting security operations
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of security operations

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity or a related field
• Advanced certifications (CISSP, CISM) are preferable

Experience

• 4+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations or related role
