Job Description

We are in search of a skilled Insurance Underwriter to join our team in Pretoria. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of risk assessment and be proficient in evaluating insurance applications. You will play a crucial role in determining coverage terms and conditions, ensuring that our clients receive the best possible service.

Responsibilities

• Review insurance applications and conduct risk analysis.
• Develop comprehensive underwriting reports to support decision-making.
• Coordinate with insurance agents to finalize underwriting terms.
• Analyze statistical data and reports to assess risk exposure.
• Fulfill customer service duties by addressing inquiries related to underwriting.
• Participate in training sessions to enhance underwriting skills and knowledge.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Economics or a related field
• Postgraduate qualifications in Insurance are advantageous

Experience

• 4+ years of experience in the insurance industry, specifically underwriting

Certifications

• Insurance Institute of South Africa (IISA) Certification
