Job Description

We are seeking dedicated Advanced Practice Psychiatric Nurses to deliver comprehensive mental health care as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide therapy for patients experiencing mental health issues.

Responsibilities

• Administer comprehensive mental health assessments and develop appropriate treatment interventions.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of medication and therapeutic strategies.
• Coordinate with community resources to support patient needs.
• Conduct family meetings and support groups as part of patient care.
• Educate healthcare professionals on psychiatric nursing practices.
• Stay abreast of legislative changes affecting mental health care.
• Engage actively in peer supervision and mentorship.
• Assist in developing and implementing mental health policies within the organization.
• Promote an environment of respect, dignity, and confidentiality.
• Advocate for mental health awareness and destigmatization in the community.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BScN)
• Postgraduate qualification in Mental Health Nursing

Experience

• At least 3 years working as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Psychiatry

• Medication Management

Certifications

• Mental Health First Aid certification
• Advanced Psychiatric Nursing certification

Languages
