Job Description

The Batch and Furnace Operator will be a crucial part of our manufacturing team, responsible for monitoring and controlling batch and furnace processes. The successful candidate will ensure efficient operations, conduct troubleshooting, and perform preventative maintenance on equipment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the mixing and preparation of raw materials for glass production.
• Ensure accurate adjustments of furnace conditions during production runs.
• Conduct ongoing quality checks on products to meet specifications.
• Document production processes accurately, reporting deviations to supervisors.
• Engage in maintaining environmental compliance standards.
• Work alongside other teams to enhance production efficiency and output.
• Participate in safety training and adhere to protocols.
• Assist in managing inventory of raw materials and supplies.
• Utilize process control software effectively.

Requirements

Education

• Matric or equivalent qualification
• Technical diploma or certificate in engineering or manufacturing

Experience

• 5 years of experience in the manufacturing industry, specifically with furnace operations.

Technical Skills

• Measurement and testing equipment

Languages

• English: Fluent
