Structural Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Structural Engineer to join our team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and overseeing the construction of various structural projects. You will work closely with architects and multidisciplinary teams to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget. An emphasis on sustainability and innovative construction practices is preferred, making use of cutting-edge software and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed structural designs and calculations for a variety of buildings.
• Lead project meetings to discuss project timelines and deliverables.
• Research and implement innovative solutions for sustainability in engineering.
• Support project management with compliance and risk assessment activities.
• Mentor and train junior team members in engineering principles.
• Update and maintain design standards and protocols.
• Prepare bid documentation and assist in contract negotiations.
• Collaborate with external consultants to ensure project objectives are met.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Professional accreditation is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of relevant professional experience
