Job Description

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Veterinarian to join our team at Local Veterinary Clinic in Pietermaritzburg. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to animal welfare and extensive veterinary skills. You will provide medical care, perform surgeries, and develop treatment plans, while also educating pet owners about proper animal care.

Responsibilities

• Examine animals and obtain medical histories.
• Convey treatment options to owners and advocate for pet care.
• Participate in surgical procedures and provide post-operative care.
• Ensure clinic hygiene and safety protocols are followed.
• Utilize diagnostic tools, including X-rays and blood tests.
• Assist with the training of new staff members.
• Build strong relationships with clients and their pets.
• Create educational materials for pet health.
• Attend continuing education seminars and training.
• Engage in collaborative case reviews with colleagues.

Requirements

Education

• BVSc or equivalent veterinary qualification

Experience

• 6+ years of experience in diverse veterinary settings
