Job Description

As a Psychologist in Durban, you will collaborate with other health professionals to provide top-notch mental health services. Your expertise will help guide patients through their challenges and improve their overall wellbeing.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and evaluate patients to identify their psychological needs.
  • Provide therapy for a range of mental health issues, including anxiety and depression.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to enhance therapeutic skills.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare providers to establish holistic care approaches.
  • Advise on best practices for mental health interventions.
  • Facilitate support groups for patients and families.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
  • Document all therapy sessions and outcomes in compliance with regulations.
  • Advocate for patients’ mental health needs within the healthcare system.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and practices within the department.

Requirements

Education
  • Master's degree in Psychology
  • Registration with Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in a clinical setting
