Job Description

As a Veterinary Surgeon in Durban, you will be responsible for medical examinations, surgeries, and holistic care of pets. You will work closely with pet owners to educate them on animal health, ensuring the highest level of care.

Responsibilities

• Oversee surgical procedures and anesthesia for various species.
• Assess animal health and negotiate actionable treatment plans.
• Participate in round discussions to evaluate patient progress.
• Maintain communication with pet owners regarding treatment plans.
• Develop and implement health care plans for individual animals.
• Attend continuing education courses to enhance veterinary skills.
• Contribute to developing clinic policies and protocols.
• Monitor and critique all medical records for accuracy.
• Uphold stringent sanitation standards in the workplace.
• Foster a supportive environment for junior staff and interns.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Science
• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) mandatory

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in veterinary practice
