Job Description

The Cargo and Freight Agent is responsible for coordinating and managing the transportation of goods from one location to another. This role involves ensuring timely delivery and efficient routing of cargo to meet customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all logistics related to cargo shipments.
• Communicate with clients regarding shipment status and any issues that arise.
• Ensure all cargo is transported safely and on time.
• Work collaboratively with dispatchers, drivers, and other logistics team members.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and guidelines.
• Perform other related duties as required.
• Assess transportation costs to optimize budget efficiency.
• Develop solutions to logistical challenges.
• Prepare reports for management on cargo movements and logistics performance.

Requirements

Education

• Matric certificate or equivalent
• Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related field is preferred

Experience

• 2-3 years of experience in logistics or transportation

Technical Skills

• Freight Forwarding
• Customs Regulations

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of industry-specific software: Experience with logistics software systems for tracking and managing shipments.
