Structural Engineering Consultant

Job Description

As a Structural Engineering Consultant, you will be at the forefront of cutting-edge construction projects in Cape Town. Your role will include designing structural solutions, conducting site inspections, and ensuring projects meet all regulatory requirements while fostering strong client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the structural design process from conception through to completion.
• Conduct inspections and quality control assessments during construction.
• Develop and maintain project documentation including reports and drawings.
• Engage with clients to understand their needs and expectations.
• Implement cost-effective solutions while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Assist in project proposals and presentations to stakeholders.
• Coordinate effectively with contractors and construction teams.
• Facilitate meetings and discussions related to project developments.
• Assess risks and devise mitigation strategies for structural projects.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering
• Master's degree in related field preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in structural engineering consultancy

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Revit

• Leadership

Certifications

• Certified Engineering Technician (CET)
• Building Information Modeling (BIM) Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience using BIM technology: Hands-on experience in using Building Information Modeling technology for project development.
• Understanding of project finance: Knowledge of financial aspects related to construction projects.
