Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Design Engineer to join our engineering team in Midrand. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and developing innovative solutions in compliance with engineering principles and industry standards. The role demands an analytical mindset and a passion for problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, and analyze detailed design specifications.
• Utilize simulation tools for product testing and optimization.
• Engage in prototyping and testing of new designs.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with suppliers to source materials and components.
• Analyze design problems and propose solutions.
• Prepare and present project progress reports to management.
• Oversee the implementation of engineering designs during production.
• Mentor junior engineers and interns as needed.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering discipline
• Master's degree in a related field is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of industry experience in design engineering

Technical Skills

• CAD Software
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Adaptability

Certifications

• Chartered Engineer Status
• Lean Manufacturing Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic

Advantageous

• Proficiency in ANSYS for analysis and simulation: Experience in using ANSYS for design validation and optimization.
• Experience with Agile Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile practices in project management.
