Job Description

Join our team as a Fiber Optic Technician where you will be pivotal in installing and maintaining fiber optic systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in fiber optic technology and a passion for troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and troubleshoot fiber optic cabling and related equipment.
• Collaborate with project managers to meet deadlines and project specifications.
• Utilize testing equipment to diagnose issues in fiber optic systems.
• Prepare reports on work performed and system performance.
• Ensure that all installations are compliant with industry standards.
• Educate clients about fiber optic systems and maintenance procedures.
• Coordinate with suppliers for materials and equipment.
• Evaluate and recommend improvements for existing processes.
• Attend training and workshops to improve technical skills.
• Assist in the development of project plans and budgets.

Requirements

Education

• Diploma in Telecommunications or a related field
• Advanced qualification in Optical Fiber Technology is a plus.

Experience

• 3 years of relevant experience in the fiber optics field

Certifications

• Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Basic
