Job Description

As a Civil Engineering Consultant in our Johannesburg office, you will be at the forefront of developing innovative engineering solutions. The role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality projects while ensuring compliance with applicable standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee civil engineering projects from conception to completion.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement risk management strategies.
• Liaise with local authorities, clients, and consultants to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Train and mentor junior staff in engineering practices.
• Analyze and resolve design challenges and contractual issues.
• Conduct regular project site visits to confirm work is proceeding as per plans.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation and records.
• Assist in business development efforts and proposal writing.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• Master's degree or higher is advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years in the civil engineering sector with project management experience

Technical Skills

• AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)

Soft Skills

• Negotiation
• Leadership

Certifications

• Certified Engineering Technician (CET)
• LEED Accredited Professional

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Proficient
