Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our innovative team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will be involved in designing, developing, and testing mechanical systems and components that meet the required specifications and performance criteria. You will work closely with other engineers and project managers to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed technical drawings and specifications.
• Supervise the testing of prototypes and models.
• Coordinate with vendors for materials and parts procurement.
• Conduct root cause analyses for product failures.
• Train junior engineers and interns in mechanical engineering practices.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
• Master's degree in Engineering Management is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of relevant experience in mechanical design and analysis

Technical Skills

• MATLAB
• ANSYS

Soft Skills

• Project Management
• Team Leadership

Certifications

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
• Project Management Professional (PMP)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in automotive or aerospace sectors: Relevant experience in industries focused on high-performance engineering.
• Knowledge of robotics or automation technology: Understanding of automation concepts and applications in mechanical systems.
