Job Description

We are in search of a passionate Special Needs Coordinator to support and advocate for students with diverse learning needs. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, parents, and therapists to ensure a comprehensive educational experience.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments to inform instructional strategies for students with special needs.
  • Assist in the development of IEPs in collaboration with educational staff.
  • Advise school personnel on best practices for supporting diverse learners.
  • Evaluate and review educational materials to ensure accessibility for all students.
  • Support families in understanding and navigating special education services.
  • Participate in advocacy initiatives to promote awareness of special education issues.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to new staff within the special education team.
  • Document and maintain compliance with provincial regulations and standards.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, or related field
  • Master's degree in Special Education or related field is preferred
Experience
  • 3-5 years of experience supporting students with disabilities
