Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Underwriter to join our Durban team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating insurance applications, assessing risks, and determining coverage offerings.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough risk assessments for policy applications.
• Develop and implement underwriting strategies that align with company objectives.
• Collaborate with sales and claims teams to enhance service delivery.
• Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes that may impact underwriting processes.
• Provide mentoring and training to junior underwriters when necessary.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Insurance
• MBA or Master's in Insurance is an advantage

Experience

• 5+ years in the insurance sector, with a focus on underwriting

• Data Analysis

• Negotiation

Certifications

• Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC)
• Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA)

Languages

• English: Fluent
