Job Description

The Special Education Teacher will be instrumental in creating lesson plans that meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities, promoting a caring, collaborative, and inclusive classroom atmosphere. You will assess student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly to ensure that every student reaches their fullest potential.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one and group support with a focus on enhancing social skills.
  • Collaborate with therapists and specialists for integrated support.
  • Create engaging, adaptive learning materials suited to students’ learning styles.
  • Monitor and evaluate student performance through regular assessments.
  • Incorporate technology as a tool to facilitate learning and engagement.
  • Advocate for students with special needs in school and community settings.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
  • Honours degree preferred
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role

  • Knowledge of special education laws and regulations

Languages
  • English: Fluent

Advantageous
