Civil Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing construction projects while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards. A background in structural engineering or geotechnical engineering is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the construction processes and manage contractors.
• Conduct risk assessments and ensure preventive measures are taken.
• Review civil engineering designs and plans for accuracy.
• Coordinate with local authorities for necessary permits and approvals.
• Ensure effective communication with clients and stakeholders.
• Implement quality control procedures on projects.
• Assist in the development of project specifications.
• Facilitate training and development for junior engineers.
• Evaluate and recommend materials for construction projects.
• Participate in post-project evaluations to identify improvements.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering is advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in civil engineering, including project management experience
