Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Transcriptionist to join our Cape Town team. The successful candidate will be responsible for converting voice recordings from healthcare providers into written text. This critical role involves ensuring accuracy and adherence to medical terminology and confidentiality standards.

Responsibilities

• Accurately transcribe, review, and edit medical records and reports.
• Work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure clarity in documentation.
• Maintain accurate patient files and assist in generating reports.
• Implement effective transcription techniques to ensure timely documentation.
• Conduct research on medical terminology as needed.
• Provide feedback on transcription software and processes for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with all health information standards and regulations.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management is preferred
• Certification in Medical Transcription is advantageous

Experience

• 3+ years experience in medical transcription or documentation roles

• Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
• Dictation Software

Certifications

• Certified Healthcare Documentation Specialist (CHDS)

Languages

• English: Fluent
