Job Description

We are seeking experienced Excavating and Loading Machine Operators for surface mining operations. The ideal candidates will be skilled in operating various excavators and ensuring the efficient and safe handling of materials on-site.

Responsibilities

• Handle excavators and draglines for material digging and moving.
• Perform daily safety checks on all equipment and tools.
• Maintain a clean operating environment and adhere to hygiene standards.
• Coordinate with the project manager and other crew members on task execution.
• Implement safe and effective digging techniques to maximize efficiency.
• Provide training to junior operators on equipment handling.
• Document incidents and accidents and assist in investigations.
• Participate in safety meetings and training sessions.
• Adjust operational tactics based on real-time project requirements.

Requirements

Education

• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in excavation and loading operations.

Technical Skills

• Excavator Operation
• Heavy Equipment Maintenance

Soft Skills

• Communication
• Problem-solving

Certifications

• Valid driver’s license (Code CE)
• Certificate in Excavator Operation or similar

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with GPS-guided excavation equipment: Familiarity with technology for precision excavation.
• Previous work in large-scale mining projects: Experience contributing to major mining operations.
