Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Shotblaster to join our team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing surfaces for coating by removing contaminants using a variety of blasting techniques. They will need to have a keen eye for detail and be able to work quickly while maintaining safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Execute the blasting process while ensuring the highest quality and safety standards.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.
• Train and mentor junior staff on proper blasting techniques and safety practices.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss project statuses and improvements.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to enhance productivity.

Requirements

Education

• No formal qualification required, but any relevant industry experience would be beneficial.

Experience

• At least 2 years' experience in abrasive blasting or surface preparation.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of Blasting Techniques
• Equipment Maintenance

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving
• Adaptability

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience operating overhead cranes: Familiarity with overhead cranes and safety protocols while operating them.
• Basic computer skills: Ability to use computers for reporting and recording data.
