Job Description

The RIP Operator is responsible for operating specialized software to ensure high-quality output for printing processes. This role involves collaborating with the pre-press and printing teams to streamline workflows and maintain file organization.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare files for printing, including color calibration, image enhancement, and layout adjustments.
  • Manage inventory of printing supplies and materials efficiently.
  • Monitor and adjust printer settings to achieve optimal output quality.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Assist other departments (e.g. sales, marketing) in ensuring client specifications are met.

Requirements

Education
  • Matric/Grade 12
  • Certificate or Diploma in Printing or Graphics
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in RIP software and pre-press processes.
Technical Skills
  • RIP software proficiency (e.g., Onyx, Caldera, EFI)
  • Adobe Creative Suite
Soft Skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Communication skills
Languages
  • English: Fluent
  • Afrikaans: Basic

Advantageous

  • Experience in large format printing and signage: Hands-on experience in handling large format equipment and substrates.
  • Knowledge of color management and printing processes: Understanding of color calibration and profiles for print quality.
