Pharmacist

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Pharmacist to add value to our healthcare team in Cape Town. You will be responsible for monitoring patient medication therapies, providing drug utilization reviews, and educating patients about their medications. Responsibilities

• Check prescription and review medication for contraindications and interactions.
• Educate patients about chronic disease management and prevention.
• Prepare and compound medications as necessary.
• Maintain patient confidentiality in line with regulations.
• Actively participate in team meetings and collaborative care discussions.
• Facilitate medication adherence programs.
• Assist in managing pharmacy operations and workflow.
• Support health screenings and immunization programs.
• Monitor prescription trends and report on medication safety.
• Build relationships with patients to improve pharmaceutical care outcomes.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or Pharm.D.
• Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council

Experience

• 2+ years of experience in a retail pharmacy environment

Certifications

• Pharmacy Practice Certification
• Certification in Diabetes Education

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Intermediate
