Roller Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Roller Operator to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a roller to compact soil, gravel, concrete, or asphalt, ensuring that the material is properly laid for construction projects. You will be working on various projects around Johannesburg and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

• Control and operate the roller machine to compact soil, concrete, asphalt, and other materials.
• Adhere to safety protocols and report any hazards immediately.
• Maintain the roller machine in good working order by performing routine checks and documentation.
• Submit daily inspection and maintenance reports.
• Coordinate with the site supervisor and technical team to optimize project execution.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years experience in operating a roller in road construction or maintenance projects.

• Roller operation

Certifications

• Certification in operating a roller
• First Aid Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with heavy machinery: Additional experience operating other heavy equipment such as bulldozers or excavators.
