Urban Planner

Job Description

We are looking for a passionate Urban Planner to contribute to transformative urban projects in Cape Town. You will leverage your expertise in spatial planning and stakeholder engagement to enhance urban livability and ensure compliance with sustainable practices. Your contributions will directly impact community development and urban resilience.

Responsibilities

• Research and analyze zoning regulations and their implications on proposed developments.
• Participate in strategic sessions to develop long-term urban development projects.
• Prepare applications for planning permissions and liaise with relevant authorities.
• Facilitate workshops and public forums for effective community engagement.
• Utilize GIS and other planning tools in project evaluation and reporting.
• Support the assessment of urban regeneration initiatives and sustainability projects.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Planning, Design, or a related field
• Master's degree in Urban Studies or Environmental Planning is advantageous

Experience

• 3+ years of relevant urban planning experience

• Professional Certification in Urban Planning

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Conversational
