Job Description

As an Insurance Underwriter, you will play a pivotal role in evaluating and managing risks associated with insurance policies. Your expertise will help us make informed decisions regarding coverage and premiums, ensuring the financial stability of our clients and the company.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze insurance applications to determine risk exposure.
• Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure all underwriting practices meet regulatory standards.
• Engage in negotiations with clients regarding terms and premiums.
• Update and maintain underwriting manuals and guidelines.
• Develop strong relationships with agents and clients to foster long-term partnerships.
• Provide training and mentorship to junior underwriters.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Business Administration, or related field
• Master's degree is a plus

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in the insurance industry, preferably in underwriting

Certifications

• Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA)
