Cloud Engineer

Job Description

We're seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer in Johannesburg to enhance our cloud strategies. You'll be expected to design robust cloud solutions, maintain infrastructure, and engage in continuous improvement efforts to optimize cloud environments. Strong knowledge of DevOps methodologies and cloud services is a must.

Responsibilities

• Implement containerization using Docker and orchestrate with Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with teams to create cloud enablement strategies.
• Enhance the performance and scalability of cloud infrastructures.
• Optimize deployment processes and streamline workflows within the cloud ecosystem.
• Prepare technical documentation and user guides for cloud services.
• Provide training and knowledge transfer to team members and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with cloud governance frameworks and best practices.
• Participate in cloud-related projects and innovation initiatives.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or relevant field
• Master's degree in Software Engineering or related field is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering or DevOps roles

• Terraform

Certifications

• Google Professional Cloud Architect
• DevOps Institute Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies: Experience working in Agile team environments.
