Accounting Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Technician to join our team in Port Elizabeth. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular bookkeeping tasks to maintain financial records.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns and other compliance documents.
• Monitor financial transactions for discrepancies and resolve issues.
• Support the preparation of year-end financial reports.
• Conduct regular audits of internal financial procedures.

Requirements

Education

• National Diploma in Accounting
• Bachelor's in Finance or related field a plus

Experience

• 3+ years experience in the accounting sector

Certifications

• Certified Bookkeeper
• Membership with a recognized accounting body (advantageous)
