Tax Consultant

Job Description

We are seeking a knowledgeable Tax Consultant to join our team in Bloemfontein. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert tax advice, ensuring compliance with regulations, and assisting clients in minimizing their tax liabilities. You will play a crucial role in enhancing our service delivery and building long-term client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted advisor for clients on complex tax matters.
• Conduct comprehensive tax research to support client strategies.
• Draft detailed tax opinions and position papers for clients.
• Monitor changes in tax legislation and prepare clients for upcoming changes.
• Assist clients in utilizing available tax credits and incentives.
• Provide exceptional customer service to maintain high client satisfaction.
• Evaluate and improve internal processes related to tax service delivery.
• Prepare presentations for client meetings on tax strategies.
• Facilitate communication with local tax authorities on behalf of clients.
• Mentor junior staff to develop their skills in taxation.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Taxation or a related field
• Master's degree is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years in a tax advisory role

Certifications

• Tax Practitioner Registration with SARS

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Sesotho: Conversational

Advantageous

• Experience with estate and trust taxation: Familiarity with tax regulations affecting estates and trusts.
• Knowledge of VAT regulations: Understanding of Value Added Tax compliance requirements.
