Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough analyses of insurance applications and claims.
• Develop underwriting guidelines tailored to specific market conditions.
• Keep detailed records and documentation for audit purposes.
• Serve as a primary contact for agent queries regarding underwriting policies.
• Track industry trends to improve risk assessment techniques.
• Review and renew existing policies to ensure profitability.
• Work closely with claims adjusters to understand claims processes.
• Participate in annual risk management evaluations.
• Train new staff on underwriting processes and systems.
• Actively contribute to department strategy meetings.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science or Legal Studies
• Professional underwriting certifications are a bonus

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in the insurance industry

Certifications

• Fellowship in the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS)
