Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Hospital Pharmacy Technician to support the pharmacy team in providing exceptional pharmaceutical care. The successful candidate will assist in the management of medications, collaborate with healthcare professionals, and ensure compliance with health regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Dispense medications under the supervision of licensed pharmacists.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to optimize patient care.
  • Document medication errors and adverse reactions.
  • Educate patients on the proper use of medications.
  • Assist in managing prescription refills and drug utilization reviews.
  • Contribute to the development of pharmacy protocols.
  • Assist in managing inventory, including ordering and restocking medications.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities.
  • Attend multidisciplinary team meetings as required.

Requirements

Education
  • Diploma in Pharmacy or relevant qualification
  • Registration with the South African Pharmacy Council
Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a pharmacy setting, preferably in a hospital.

Certifications
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
