Cybersecurity Analyst

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Cybersecurity Analyst based in Cape Town to oversee our cybersecurity operations. You will assess potential threats, design security architectures, and coordinate with stakeholders to enhance our security strategies.

Responsibilities

• Respond to security incidents and provide factual reports.
• Develop training material for cybersecurity awareness.
• Perform system backups and disaster recovery procedures.
• Review and update cybersecurity policies regularly.
• Coordinate security patch management for software updates.
• Work with teams to identify and remediate vulnerabilities.
• Participate in cybersecurity drills and exercises.
• Provide support during security audits and assessments.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology or equivalent
• Master's degree in a relevant field is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity roles with a focus on incident response

Technical Skills

• Security Auditing
• Risk Analysis

Soft Skills

• Teamwork

Certifications

• CompTIA Security+
• CISM (Certified Information Security Manager)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with cloud security: Knowledge of securing cloud environments and applications.
• Familiarity with threat intelligence: Experience in using threat intelligence to inform security practices.
