Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Underwriter with a keen eye for detail to assess risks related to policy applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating the financial stability of clients and determining appropriate coverage. This role involves a blend of analytical skills and decision-making to effectively manage risk and ensure profitability for the company.

Responsibilities

• Analyze clients' insurance needs and select appropriate coverage plans.
• Review underwriting guidelines and adjust criteria as necessary for individual cases.
• Offer insights and training to junior underwriting staff about company policies.
• Meet regularly with management to discuss underwriting performance and strategies for improvement.
• Develop and maintain relationships with brokers and agents for mutual benefit.
• Stay informed about changes in the insurance market that may affect underwriting procedures.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in a related field, preferably in Finance or Business
• Advanced insurance coursework or certifications preferred

Experience

• Minimum of 4 years in the insurance industry with a focus on underwriting roles
