We are seeking an experienced Insurance Underwriter with a keen eye for detail to assess risks related to policy applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating the financial stability of clients and determining appropriate coverage. This role involves a blend of analytical skills and decision-making to effectively manage risk and ensure profitability for the company.

Responsibilities

• Review insurance applications to evaluate risks and assess eligibility for coverage.
• Determine policy terms and conditions by gathering and analyzing relevant data.
• Communicate with agents and clients to clarify information and resolve discrepancies.
• Conduct research on industry trends to stay updated on best practices in underwriting.
• Prepare correspondence and documentation related to underwriting decisions.
• Utilize underwriting software to support data analysis and decision-making.
• Collaborate with claims department to assess risk exposure and develop appropriate strategies.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in a related field, preferably in Finance or Business
• Advanced insurance coursework or certifications preferred

Experience

• Minimum of 4 years in the insurance industry with a focus on underwriting roles
