Histology Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Histology Technician to join our dedicated team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and processing tissue samples, embedding specimens, and performing staining techniques. A keen eye for detail and a solid understanding of laboratory protocols are essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tissue specimens for microscopic analysis, ensuring high standards of accuracy.
• Utilize a microtome to produce high-quality tissue sections.
• Implement staining processes to enhance sample visibility.
• Conduct regular maintenance on laboratory equipment.
• Document all procedures and maintain accurate laboratory records.
• Assist pathologists with advanced laboratory techniques when necessary.
• Work collaboratively with laboratory staff to streamline workflow.
• Follow established safety guidelines to maintain a secure laboratory environment.

Requirements

Education

• Relevant Degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences

Experience

• Experience in a histology laboratory setting is preferred.

Certifications

Languages
