Veterinary Surgeon

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join our compassionate team at PetCare Ltd. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in veterinary medicine, be comfortable with surgical procedures, and possess excellent communication skills to engage with pet owners.

Responsibilities

• Perform surgical interventions in a safe and effective manner.
• Communicate findings and treatment options clearly to pet owners.
• Assist in the management of the clinic's inventory and supplies.
• Contribute to a positive work atmosphere and team spirit.
• Engage in community outreach and education programs.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) or equivalent
• Postgraduate diploma in veterinary medicine is an advantage

Experience

• At least 5 years of veterinary experience preferred

• Diagnostic imaging
• Behavioural assessment

• Critical thinking
• Customer service

Certifications

• Certification in Veterinary Dentistry
• Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Conversational

Advantageous

• Experience with animal behaviour therapy: Familiarity with strategies for behavior modification in pets.
• Knowledge of alternative therapies such as acupuncture: Experience with non-traditional treatment modalities.
