Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to join our Port Elizabeth office. The successful candidate will evaluate and analyze insurance applications, ensuring risks are properly assessed and coverage is appropriately priced. You will play a critical role in determining insurability by reviewing applications for insurance coverage, conducting risk assessments, and applying policy guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough risk evaluations for a variety of insurance applications.
• Collaborate with agents to understand client needs and ensure proper coverage.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and underwriting standards.
• Provide exceptional customer service while handling inquiries related to underwriting.
• Train junior underwriters on best practices and company policies.
• Prepare and present reports to management on underwriting activities.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Insurance
• Advanced underwriting certifications preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in insurance underwriting

Certifications

• Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU)
