Responsibilities

• Execute regular inspections and maintenance tasks on locomotive engines.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical failures effectively.
• Test and calibrate locomotive systems for optimal performance.
• Work in collaboration with other departments to ensure locomotive readiness.
• Keep logs of all completed maintenance tasks and repairs.
• Comply with stringent health and safety guidelines.
• Provide leadership and support to less experienced team members.
• Actively participate in ongoing training and development.
• Engage in emergency readiness drills and workshops.

Requirements

Education

• Trade certificate or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in the locomotive maintenance sector.

Technical Skills

• Diesel engine mechanics
• Hydraulic systems

Certifications

• Advanced locomotive maintenance certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in a supervisory role: Prior experience leading a maintenance team or project.
